Enthusiastic Teen launches fashion line for charity

A Scarsdale High School entrepreneur has created a fashion line that raises money for charity. Sofia Feinstein is the founder of UNI T fashion. She has studied design at Tufts FIT and Scarsdale High School. Her sweatshirts t-shirts & totes are available here. https://uni-tfashion.com/
All the profits from the sales are donated to three charities – HIAS, Steve’s Camp at Horizon Farms and INROADS. She said she was inspired by Newman’s Own Food Company which also donates the entire profit from their sales.
Where does she make her merchandise? Feinstein explained, “All of my designs are produced with Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing. It means I do not have to keep any stock and that each order is printed as soon as it comes in. I have printers in the US who print for me. I give my orders to the printer who has the quickest turnaround time. They are all very good.”
About price points she says, “I try to price our products at a very reasonable price so people can support us. I have been encouraged to charge higher prices because this is for charity, but I want to be an affordable and comfortable casual clothing brand.”
How much money has she been able donate? Feinstein said, “Roughly every three months I donate my profits to my charities. I began this project for the time period ending December 31st 2022, and have made donations ever since. If my ambassador program gains support, and I get some PR, I hope to have profits this year in excess of $15,000.”
The company was given a boost this month when Dreamwear, Inc., a fashion brand with headquarters in New York, donated 3500 luxury items, including brand-name clothing, to those who are in need. Sofia and a team of students sort these items to create packages that will be donated to Steve’s Camp, HIAS and other charities.
Feinstein explained, “I am building a brand that cares and gives every penny of profit to causes that matter. Dreamwear, a leader in their category, is incredibly generous and this proves fashion can make a real difference. The quality and quantity of their donation will enable UNI-T and my partner charities to help a lot of people.”
