EPSON TO RUN ONE STOP SIGN SHOP AT VI

Epson’s theme at Visual Impact is ‘Your one stop signage shop’, with the stand aiming to demonstrate multiple signage solutions tailored to client needs.

It will demonstrate ways in which sign and print shops are able to reduce their equipment footprint and show the versatility of printing products and solutions.

Epson’s stand will feature at least five wide format printing sign and display systems, as well its latest solutions in direct-to clothing and direct to film, including a completely new model.

Epson Australia managing director, Craig Heckenberg, said, “Due to the impact of Covid-19, businesses have opted to bring more print back to Australia. We have expanded our range of print products to meet the needs of businesses and help them embrace this change.

“Epson are also striving to further reduce wastage and water requirements. We are putting more emphasis on digital printing processes that are inherently more efficient for both natural and synthetic fibers. You will see a range of these products and solutions on show and demonstrated at Visual Impact 2023 in Sydney.”

Epson’s SureColor T5760DM is the first to be introduced. It combines high-speed production, automated loading and large format scanning with a compact footprint. This model is for companies that want to print large-format color drawings and posters at moderate to high volumes. Epson states that this model will be particularly useful for applications in construction, education, retail, and print-forpay.

Maximum impact: SureColor S80660L

Epson SureColor s80660L is a printer that can produce images of maximum impact with minimal effort and cost. The S80660L fits any operation with medium to high production volumes and a structured work flow. It is compatible with a wide range of media and suits applications including high-value large format photo imaging, Pantone certified POS and signage, backlit displays and window decorations, wallpapers, surface finishes and décor.

SureColor R5000: New resin range

Epson’s new resin range is represented by the SureColor R5000L, which the company says offers a low running cost, and brings accurate and repeatable colour to a platform optimised for rapid job turnaround. The SureColor R5000L is designed to produce signage, décor and promotional material. The ink is aqueous, or water-based. It’s similar to latex but has a lower temperature of curing and enhanced scratch resistance. Epson claims that enhanced print durability comes with improved mechanical reliability and reduced running costs.

Leveraging Epson’s decades of colour and imaging expertise will be the Epson SureColor V7000 UV flatbed printer, which is powered by eight PrecisionCore printheads and a new UltraChrome UV ink to deliver “outstanding” print quality and low cost of ownership, printing on many types of media including paper, film, board, Corflute, vinyl, canvas, aluminium, timber and acrylic up to 80mm thick.

Alongside these will be the Epson SureColor F6460 representing the company’s fourth generation 44″ model, and featuring enhanced image quality with faster performance and a simpler operation. The F6460 has been made to suit a wide range of production applications from customised fabric and garments to quality décor and merchandise, premium hard and soft signage. The F6460 is available in a 4-colour and 6-colour version with a selection of colour sets. It uses 1.6-litre ink bags. The printing is done on paper which then gets transferred to the material using a heat press.

Epson is also showcasing their latest solutions in direct-to -garment printing and direct to film, including an all-new SureColour F2260 model.

Joining the usual suspects from the Epson Australia team at the show this year will be Shuhei Sato – Epson Australia’s new product manager specialising in professional print solutions. Shuhei worked previously at Epson Headquarters in Japan. He has extensive knowledge about global trends and large format print technologies.
