FAIRFIELD, N.J., Dec. 13, 2022 /PRNewswire–PRWeb/ Keypoint Intelligence has published a market outlook for direct-to garment (DTG) printers in the years 2021-2026. The DTG printing devices are included in the forecast. They include desktop and industrial printers, as well as printers that use multiple plates side-by-side. This includes toner transfer (EP), printers that compete in the low-priced commercial entry-level market. In the forecast deliverables, there is also a pivot table that includes figures for direct-to-film (DTF).

Direct-to–garment printing involves digitally printing textiles and garments with inkjet technology. Print transport and inkjet-deposition elements are two common solutions that allow you to print on garments when they are finished.

Based on placement data from key vendors and analysis of machine capabilities in industrial and commercial environments, the 2021 market for DTG printers was established. These regions provide a breakdown of the market trends for the period 2026.

The world was free from the COVID-19 pandemic at the time of data collection and forecasting. However, there is still economic disruption as the global economy struggles for a new start. The global supply chain and shipping disruptions continue impacting supplies of consumables, parts and garments. Additionally, labor shortages are disrupting normal business operations.

“In 2021 the world’s first direct-to-garment printing reached its peak $10.5 billion It is estimated to have a print value of approximately 50,000 and an expected annual growth rate of 5%. $21.3 billion “By 2026”, claims Johnny Shell, Principal Analyst at Keypoint Intelligence. “Digitally printed garments were printed in 958 million units worldwide, at a projected 16.8% CAGR through 2026.”

One trend that has been noted is the integration of workflow automation with online marketplaces (Amazon, Shopify, etc.). This is made available by both OEMs and third party providers, increasing the competition. In addition, the speed gap between industrial mid-level and commercial printers is closing. Industrial high-level DTG printers that are faster than commercial printers have dispelled the myth that digital is too slow. The global ecommerce market is growing at a steady pace. By 2025, it will account for 24.5% of the total. Additionally, digitally printed apparel is continuing to grow in the ecommerce direction.
